Completed a new amplifier project this week. I found a few mini wedge speaker boxes in storage and thought they would make good enclosure for a portable amplifier. This is a 15 watt amp with tone controls, dual inputs, and it’s packaged in a extremely rugged and travel worthy box.
The mini wedge amp, ready to rock.
I’m currently building a couple more of these with the extra boxes I have. If you’re interested in owning one of these drop me a line and let me know.
The electronics are complete and I’m finalizing the case construction and control panel layout. Hope to have it making noise within a week. It’s been on hold waiting for components to arrive so I’m looking forward to getting this one playable ASAP. Check back soon.
Added a switch the will mute the main sax voice and also added the pitch bends. Nothing special here, but I love the low pitch growl this thing produces. Nice texture.
After several setbacks and modification the trans-activator has been finished. I’m still realizing the potential of this device and I can’t wait to get some serious recording time with it.
In the process of clear coating the control panel for the transactivation today, that aresol spray can got too close to the space heater and the whole thing exploded. I managed to throw the cardboard box out into the snow but in the process the wet control panel took a hard spill on the garage floor and was scarred beyond repair. I lost a few hours of work and my eyelashes and eyebrows but it could have been much worse. Lesson learned…. need to go buy replacemet supplies. This project is on hold for a while.
