The Time Bending Looper / Delay is a combination of a couple of circuit bend toys. The looper side is built from another Yada Voice recorder. This is the same toy that’s used in the Bit-Crushing Looper.
The controls that were added to this circuit consist of two different sides, the record side and the playback side. The record side has a record button, a mute switch (essentially to mute the annoying beep that happens at the beginning and end of each recording) and a speed knob which varies the recording time.
The other side of the unit is the delay side. It was created from an echo voice changer megaphone toy.
The only control this thing offered was the option to amplify the amount of feedback. There is a fixed delay time and amount of repetitions which was somewhat dissapointin and limiting, but it still adds a lot of interest to the overall sound. The other thing that I like about this circuit is that it totally overdrives the sound and gives everything a grungy atmospheric tone.
The fun of this thing is the routing. It has both mic and line inputs.
If you route the input to the looper and get a loop going you can choose to route that signal to the mixer section or into the delay. It allows for a loop to be playing and an external signal to be fed to the delay. This allows for a lot of textures to be playing at once.
Once the guts of the circuit are compete I can move forward with the control panel layout and the case build.
